What Do These Big Words Mean for Me?

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.  	1 Corinthians 6:11 NIV

You have been set apart for God. You have been made right with God 	NLT



The First Big Word is Justification

 ==> God Says I’m Not Guilty


 * My “Not Guilty” Verdict is Free

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 	Romans 3:23-24 NIV


 * All I Do Is Trust

You cannot make God accept you because of something you do. God accepts sinners only because they have faith in him... 
God ...justifies the wicked	Romans 4:5 CEV, NIV

We know very well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. ... know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. 	Galatians 2:16 Msg, NIV


 * Remember to Relax and Enjoy It

Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ 	Romans 5:1 NIV



The Next Big Word is Sanctification

 ==> God Says He’s Changing Me to Be Like Jesus


   Positional - I’m holy like Jesus is.

   Experiential - I’m growing more like him.

   Ultimate - I’m going to fully live it pretty soon.



 * Remember Where I Am Today

God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus ...has given us a position in heaven with him. 	Ephesians 2:6 NIV, GWV

By one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. 			Hebrews 10:14 NIV


 * Cooperate With What God Is Doing in Me

So consider yourselves dead to sin’s power but living for God in the power Christ Jesus gives you. 	Romans 6:11 GWV

Take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. 	Ephesians 4:24 Msg


We know that when he appears, 
we shall be like him

Gain Genuine Grace-Filled Friendships
