Hi All!

Our reason for existing can almost be summed up in the word "go." We
all know the command "Go therefore and make disciples..." and that's
the founding mission statement of the church.

So I want to take bit of a fresh look at it, a little more in what does
it mean in my daily life than in the broad reach of what it means for
the church over 2000 years. You've got to grapple with, and "own," the
broad meaning of it before you can sort out the day-by-day individual
practicals. So we start there - our job is to reach everybody
everywhere with the news about Jesus.

Now, how does that become more than a far off idea in the middle of
work pressures, family hassles, nagging health issues, cooking,
cleaning, mowing the lawn, a lack of miraculous success at evangelism,
and just trying to find time to organize your receipts for last year so
you can explain it to Uncle Sam?

How do I find my way through the maze of this life to be able to
actually do what God wants? How does it all fit in and fit together?

We'll try to wrestle with some of these basics that we all struggle
with in the next few weeks, and hopefully come out with some practical
handles that can move us ahead in the coming year.

Thanks so much for loving the Lord right where you are. Right where he
has you at this moment.

What Does “Going” Mean for Me?

** Open My Eyes to People

But I tell you, open your eyes! Look at the fields!
They are ripe for harvest right now. 	John 4:35 NIrV

Master, we want our eyes opened. We want to see!	 Matthew 22:33 Msg

I'm sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I'm sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me. 	Acts 26:17-18 Msg


**Alert My Senses to God

Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence. 	Psalm 105:1 Msg

We work together with God. 	1 Corinthians 3:9 NIrV

The harvest is huge. But there are only a few workers. 	Matthew 9:37 NIrV

Don't forget to pray for us, that God will open doors for telling the mystery of Christ.... Pray that every time I open my mouth I'll be able to make Christ plain as day to them. 	Colossians 4:2 Msg


**Concentrate My Attention on the Job at Hand

I’m commissioning you to do a job: Spread out, worldwide, help people commit 100% to my way of life. 	Matthew 28:19 WSV

I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping 	1 Corinthians 9:26 Msg

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. 	Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
