Hi Everybody! Yesterday was Flag Day. So it's fitting that we think about citizenship. We're citizens of heaven! Wehave rights and responsibilities. How much does that impact us during a typical week? Or not? At least half of the devil's work is to trying to get us to forget or neglect what's actually true about us. And we go along with that so easily, don't we? We need to be reminded of our standing in Christ, who we are in Him, what tremendous "rights" have been freely given to us (forgiveness and eternal life, just to start a long list), and what our responsibilities are - from those to whom much has been given, much is expected. Expect more of yourself. DEFINE YOURSELF! TEAMWORK CAN CHANGE MY LIFE (part 10) We are citizens of heaven Philippians 3:20 NLT A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS * DEFINE MYSELF ACCURATELY 20But our citizenship is in heaven. Philippians 3:20 NIV Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. ...Live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ. Philippians 1:27 NLT NIrV You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Ephesians 2:19 NLT * LIVE EXPECTANTLY And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ 21who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Philippians 3:20-21 NIV But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 NLT For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 God's saving grace... teaches us to say no to godless ways and sinful longings. We must control ourselves. We must do what is right. We must lead godly lives in today's world. That's how we should live as we wait for the blessed hope God has given us. We are waiting for Jesus Christ to appear in all his glory. He is our great God and Savior. Titus 2:12-13 NIrV We are citizens of heaven and are eagerly waiting for our Savior to come from there. Philippians 3:20 CEV God has put us together as Ridgewood to: Get Out the Good News Gladly Glorify God Grow More and More Godly Give Our Gifts Generously Gain Genuine Grace-Filled Friendships
