Since change is not always so easy, I'm not changing much for this week. Finishing up from last week mostly.

This week we can sum it up by Obey God and yield to Him as we work closely with our brothers and sisters. Easy to say, harder to do. That's why we need each other. And that's why we need constant encouragement to do so. And why we need to GIVE constant encouragement to each other.

* Myth: Knowing the Truth Is the Key

 

          Truth: Do What I Know Is True

 

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.         James 1:22 NLT

 

... those who are mature, who have trained themselves to recognize the difference between right and wrong and then do what is right.     Hebrews 5:12-14 NLT

 

 

* Myth: It’s All Up To God

 

         Truth: Cooperate with God Continually

 

Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do what I say?  Luke 6:46 NIV

 

Fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.    Romans 12:2 Msg

 

Since you were raised from the dead with Christ, aim at what is in heaven...

Put all evil things out of your life: sexual sinning, doing evil, letting evil thoughts control you, wanting things that are evil, and greed... anger, bad temper, doing or saying things to hurt others, and using evil words when you talk...

God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So you should always clothe yourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.       Colossians 3:1,5,12 (1-14) NCV

 

 

* Myth: I Can Manage It Myself

 

          Truth:  Be a Vital Part of God’s Family

 

He is not impressed ... with human might. The Lord is pleased with those who respect him, with those who trust his love            Psalm 147:10-11 NLT
